I think it’s interesting that in February 2022 I had JUST given birth two weeks prior to when the building commenced on Hot Yoga Newberry! You know how some of the biggest moves in our lives just happen with very little force or effort? Well this project kind of just fell into my families lap. We never thought we’d be opening, and building from the ground up, another yoga studio after having just sold our yoga studio in Philadelphia. I honestly thought the yoga studio chapter of our lives had closed.

Until I moved to an area with no hot yoga nearby! So… here we are. Almost ready to open our doors to our home based hot yoga studio right here in the heart of Alachua County, on our land in Newberry.

Here are some exciting project updates:

Our older son Keshava was fully entertained with the excavation and site prep process. I was sad to see trees on our land go, and promise to replenish and replant.

My husband, Arthur, who is also a yoga teacher, and my partner in this endeavor, and my well wishing father started framing while I watched from my postpartum bubble.

Nearly one year later, we are putting the finishing touches on the space. My family built the space with the guidance and assistance of some of the area’s finest craftspeople.

We are currently working on fixtures, finishes, and painting. There has been talk of a January or February 2025 opening date, but stay tuned for pop up and soft opening events!

My favorite thing about this project has by far been networking, meeting locals, and engaging with our community. I am usually a “trust your gut” kind of entrepreneur, and I’ve made incredible connections in the design, marketing, and overall buildout process.

We’ll post updates here and on our social media pages. Be sure to follow along!
